Converge 09
This week Converge 09 was on the agenda, if you’re unaware of what Converge is, it is an annual Victorian eLearning conference hosted by eWorks, it was an honor this year that Chisholm Institute of Technology was hosting some of the workshops of this years conference. The central topic of this year’s conference was Create Stimulate Integrate.
The two day event was being held at the Frankston Arts Centre and Chisholms Frankston Campus.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
This morning I had the great opportunity to sit in on a presentation “The 21st Century Teacher: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” with Clay Burell, an English and History teacher at the Learning Technologies conference in Mooloolaba QLD Australia.
Clay uses the analogy of Alice going down the rabbit hole for teachers and technology in the 21st century, and that teachers have to want to learn and use these technologies instead of being pushed into using them.
Digital Entertainment
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity last weekend to represent Chisholm Institute of Technology at the International Digital Entertainment Festival ’09 in Melbourne Australia.
This was the first year that I had attended iDEF but was aware of its existence.
