CSS Zen Garden
On Friday my Certificate IV students had to complete an assessment item that revolved around the task over at CSS Zen Garden. I found this task to be beneficial to them by ensuring they only learn about CSS and designing websites without touching any of the associated HTML. Some where frustrated that they couldn’t modify the HTML.
Some are absolutely outstanding work, especially for students who only have just touched CSS. Stay tuned, I may look at publishing a couple of some of the outstanding work my students do.
No Clean Feed
If you’ve been living under some rock in Second Life you may not be aware that the Australian government wish to implement an Internet Filter at an ISP level, pretty much putting us in a nanny state.
Moodle along lil lady
This year I’m not working on any particular eLearning project like I have done in previous years. However, instead I am working as part of a team to develop an online delivery of a Certificate III in Information Technology (Multimedia), it’s going to be a slow process but hopefully we will have it running for 2011.
Adobe Presenter
So, I teach in a classroom type environment … mostly in a network lab, but I give presentations to students for theory sessions and in the past I have used PowerPoint which I loathe, I got myself a copy of Adobe Presenter recently and I am absolutely loving the engaging and interactive aspects I can now do. Mind you I am still experimenting but already I am seeing potential for creating new dynamic content for my students.
Lovin’ it, lovin’ Adobe
Google for eLearning
At the beginning of this year I was undecided to what to use as my platform for my students this year; in the past I develop a website for students to access, this year I wanted something simpler.
I looked at Moodle as an option but 10 weeks ago I really didn’t have much experience with it, so I decided to go with something I was familiar with. I started a Google Site. Google Sites integrated with Google Docs I had all my basis covered.
