Augmented Reality

by Steven Cahill on October 4th, 2009

Augmented reality (AR) is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a physical real-world environment whose elements are merged with-, or augmented by virtual computer-generated imagery – creating a mixed reality.

It appears I have to upgrade to the iPhone 3GS to get AR on my phone.

I just checked, and it doesnt seem that they have made one for Australia yet.. :( I may be wrong…but if thats right I think they need to get there butts into gear. Also, this wont work for our iPhones will it? :( Meaning we would have to actually buy a new 3GS one for it to be compadible? :(

  2. Correct Jane that it will only work with the iPhone 3GS. Other phones are going into the fold as well, I believe the Android will be capable of AR.

If you YouTube Augmented Reality you’ll see that there are even programs that you can use on your PC with a web cam. It’s amazing the advancements in Mobile Technologies.
